JOS VAESSEN INVESTS 40 MILLION EUROS IN E-MAX

E-Max of Dilsen-Stokkem, producer of aluminium profiles, has taken on the employees of Boal Belgium (Moorslede) and Boal France. With the additional personnel, the Vaessen Industries group company has been able to increase its capacity to 60,000 tonnes per year.

‘That is the critical size for further roll-out of our lean and green business concept in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom,’ says CEO Dimitri Fotij. ‘This acquisition will make E-Max a major player in the Western European market.’

E-Max’s huge asset is the technology it has developed itself, with which the CO2impact per tonne of aluminium used is just 1.9 tonnes rather than the sector-average 10 tonnes. ‘To fully implement this process, we will invest some 40 million euros over the next three years,’ says Fotij. Thereafter, in 2020, the CO2impact will be further reduced to just one tonne. ‘We are on a very promising path towards CO2-neutral production of aluminium profiles,’ the CEO concludes.
