By stimulating renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, saving energy and promoting the circular economy, efforts are being made to tackle these challenges. To achieve the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement, net greenhouse gas emissions in the EU must be at least 55% lower in 2030 than in 1990.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">With the European Climate Law (Regulation (EU) 2021\/1119), that promise has been laid down in European legislation: climate neutrality by 2050 and at least 55% lower net emissions by 2030. Since April 2026, there has also been a binding intermediate target for 2040: 90% lower net emissions. This Climate Law is the core of the Green Deal and the anchoring of the global Paris climate agreement. X-ECO has a carbon footprint of 2.03 tCO\u2082e per tonne of aluminium, independently verified by DNV. Remelting aluminium requires only 5% of the energy needed for primary aluminium production (source: European Aluminium).
