WHAT IMPACT WILL IT HAVE?
A climate-neutral Europe by 2050. That is the goal of the European Green Deal and the political promise of the European Commission. Sustainable growth, including in economic terms, is an important pillar of this.

A CLIMATE-NEUTRAL EUROPE

TACKLING THE CHALLENGES TOGETHER

The challenges we face are well known: rising CO₂ emissions, fossil fuels that are running out and nature that is falling out of balance. By stimulating renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, saving energy and promoting the circular economy, efforts are being made to tackle these challenges. To achieve the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement, net greenhouse gas emissions in the EU must be at least 55% lower in 2030 than in 1990.

With the European Climate Law (Regulation (EU) 2021/1119), that promise has been laid down in European legislation: climate neutrality by 2050 and at least 55% lower net emissions by 2030. Since April 2026, there has also been a binding intermediate target for 2040: 90% lower net emissions. This Climate Law is the core of the Green Deal and the anchoring of the global Paris climate agreement. We have not only a responsibility here, but also an obligation.

WHAT DOES E-MAX DO?

E-MAX produces circular aluminium in its own foundry in Kerkrade. X-ECO has a carbon footprint of 2.03 tCO₂e per tonne of aluminium, independently verified by DNV. Remelting aluminium requires only 5% of the energy needed for primary aluminium production (source: European Aluminium). Our targets for 2030 and 2050 and our progress are set out in the CO₂ reduction plan.
